EMU v. Toledo open thread

October 30, 2010

If you’re going to the game this afternoon — and why not? since tickets can be found free or very cheap? — the weather should be just about perfect. The temperature is forecast to be about 60° at kickoff, and not drop below the mid-50s, winds should be moderate at about 12-18 mph, and the chance of rain is just 10%. Extra activities will include the free men’s basketball Green & White Scrimmage in the Convocation Center from 2-3 pm, and the special Band Day halftime show with 12 high school bands joining the EMU Marching Band.

If you’re not able to make it to the game this afternoon, there are several other ways to keep up to date.

  • Locally and throughout the state of Michigan, the contest will be televised on Comcast Michigan (Digital Cable Channel 900). In much of Ohio, it will be on Sports Time Ohio.
  • If you’re outside the broadcast area, it can be seen on ESPN Game Plan and online at
  • You can also watch this game live or archived on Eagle All-Access.
  • Listen to the game on WEMU, 89.1 FM. Or, if you’re out of the area, listen online for free.
  • If you hunt around online, you’ll find several other websites claiming to have free streaming video of the game. I’m dubious, and some of the sites seem sketchy, so I won’t link them here, but they shouldn’t be too hard to find if you look.

You could also talk about it in the comments here.

It’s not been so bad as to change the outcome of the game, but the refs have been absolutely terrible today. Bad spots, phantom penalties, etc.

OK, why is the EMU band playing “Go Green” after a Toledo touchdown?

And another terrible spot. Did the refs forget to put on their glasses today?
