Football @ EMU exhibit

November 19, 2010

Kerry Keating, Jerry Wedge, Jerry Miller, and Doug Wilkins display a shirt celebrating the school's name change from Michigan State Normal College to Eastern Michigan College in 1956.

Now through January, Eastern Michigan is displaying an exhibit about the history of EMU football. Titled “Football @ EMU: A Look through Time”, the exhibit includes photos and displays from throughout the 110-year history of EMU football.

From 1891, when the team had no official name, known simply as the Normalites, to the Eagles of today, the University Archives presents an exhibition highlighting some of the many points of pride in Eastern Michigan University’s football program.

The exhibit is in the first-floor lobby of Halle Library, and can be viewed any time the library is open. In addition, there will be an open house with light refreshments from 5:30 to 6:30 pm on Wednesday, December 1. This sounds like something EMU football fans will not want to miss!
