EMU Men’s Basketball season is mercifully over

March 8, 2011

All four favorites — all from the MAC East Division — won by double digits tonight against their West Division opponents. For EMU, it was the same sorry story it’s been all year. The Eagles managed to shoot a whopping 16% from beyond the arc, 37% overall, and made only 47.8% of their free throws. In fact, statistically, it was a fairly well-matched game, except for EMU’s shooting percentage.

We might have one or two more men’s basketball posts this spring, particularly if there’s any news about the coaching staff or recruiting, but otherwise this is it; the men’s basketball season is over for EMU, and good riddance!

Fire Ramsay now. He has had 6 years to prove thatt he can develop a program. In 6 years he hashad 1 winning season. That season he had a watered down schedule and still finished 2 games over .500. Ihave followed Eastern since I graduated from therein 1969. They are pathetic this season. Enough is enough. If theuy do not have the money to release Mr. Ramsay, then they should not field a D1 team. He must go. He should have gone last year.

I can’t fault EMU for keeping him around after the team managed to squeak out a winning season in 2009-10, the first winning season in quite a while. I think if they hadn’t managed that, he would have been gone then. But after this travesty of a season, he should be gone now.

I believe that Eastern fans and alums will agree with my statements regarding Mr. Ramsay

After last season, I was hoping that this season be an improvement….Sadly not to be….

    Fire him now
