Survive and advance

March 24, 2011

At this point in the basketball season, the name of the game is “survive and advance; lose and go home”, and the EMU women’s team is on the road for at least one more night. This makes the Eagles the last college basketball team from Michigan—men or
women—still playing. After a slew of men’s teams lost Tuesday night, it also makes them one of just two MAC teams still playing basketball.

Tonight the Eagles go on the road to Syracuse University. The Orange play in the Carrier Dome, which, like most domed stadia, has an atrocious configuration for basketball, but unlike most domed stadia, regularly hosts basketball games anyway. At this point in the post-season, every team is good, so let’s just get to the details.

Once again, EMU will host a game-watch party at the Convocation Center. The game will also be broadcast on WEMU-FM, and through WEMU’s website. Discuss!

CORRECTION: The game watch party will be in the Student Center.
