EMU confirms Glenn Bryant transfer; Riley transfer is a big loss for Syracuse

June 16, 2011

EMU athletics this morning confirmed that sophomore forward Glenn Bryant is transferring in from the University of Arkansas. Bryant will sit out the upcoming season, and then have two seasons of eligibility as an Eagle. Bryant had this to say:

My time spent as a Razorback was a great learning experience for me, both on and off the court, but I really wanted to get closer to home. Eastern Michigan seemed like a good fit for me. I am very excited to be back home to play in front of my family and friends and to be part of Coach Murphy’s program. I am looking forward to finishing my career at Eastern Michigan.

Regarding EMU’s other incoming transfer, Syracuse guard Brandon Triche has said that DaShonte Riley matured a lot during the 2010-11 season despite sitting out with an injury and his skill set will be missed, adding that Riley’s departure will be a bigger loss for Syracuse than most fans will expect. Syracuse’s loss is EMU’s gain!

What is everyone’s thinking on the latest transfer from The University of Wyoming? Again, not eligible until 2012. The talent for 2012 looks great, but what happens with the upcoming season?
