EMU football ticket options

August 27, 2011

As expected, since they’re not trying to make the NCAA’s minimum “attendance” this year, EMU’s ticket packages are not as generous as they were last year. Important note: EMU’s online ordering system is currently showing incorrect prices across the board. I called EMU and verified the following prices. Until the online ordering system is corrected, I suggest you place any order by calling the ticket office (734) 487-2282.

Games continue to be free for students. Faculty, staff, and E-Club members can buy season tickets for $24 ($4 per game).

The regular price for single-game tickets is now $10 (up $1). Group single-game tickets are now $5 (up $2) for groups of 10 or more. There’s a “family four-pack” offer that includes 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 sodas for $40, which I suppose is an OK deal if you’ve got four people. I don’t know that I’d eat the hot dogs, though.

Season tickets for the general public start at $48 ($8 per game) for reserved bench seating, and go up to $60 ($10 per game) for reserved chair-back seating and $108 ($18 per game) for athletic club press box seating.

The best deal if you use them all is once again the 10-ticket flex pack, which gives you 10 ticket vouchers, each of which can be used at any game. The flex pack costs $50 ($5 per ticket, up $2 each or $20 total).

The EMU Ticket Office needs a little help – not sure what. Poor customer service is one of the problems. This year is the second time in 5 years that I’ve been moved because they did not fill my ticket order that was on time. I actually walked in and placed my order at the window, but the kid at the window did not make out a hard copy of the order – sorry we don’t have you on our 2011 Season Ticket holders list. For those of you who have been buying football season tickets for more than 25 years (there can’t be many of you) don’t expect a phone call to ask you if you forgot to send in your order. A phone call to a good customer – what a concept!!

Updates: It looks like online ordering is currently disabled, which I can only assume is due to this problem. Also, according to an EMU Alumni Relations posting on Facebook, “as an [sic] graduate of EMU, you are eligible for discount season tickets at only $24 for the season”. I’ve not seen this mentioned anywhere else, but I assume — perhaps wrongly — that the admin(s) behind the Alumni Relations Facebook page know what they’re talking about.
