Your predictions for the Howard game?

September 2, 2011

Just for fun — we won’t keep score from game to game — share your guesses about tomorrow’s game against Howard in the comments (you’ll find my guesses there also).

1. Final score.
2. Announced attendance. (For actual and announced attendance for each home game of the last two years, click here.)
3. Excluding quarterback passing, who will gain the most yards for each team?
4. Who will score EMU’s first touchdown of 2011?
5. Who will lead the Eagles’ defense in tackles?
6. How many sacks will the Eagles get?
7. How will the team celebrate Ron English’s first home victory?

Any other fun predictions you’d care to make?

Just realized I never came back and gave my predictions:
    1. 45-3
    2. 12,500
    3. Backups go in early and Ryan Brumfield runs for a whole bunch. (My #2 guess here is Greene).
    4. Hoskins
    5. Marcus English
    6. Going to be a bunch, but six just seems a little high to me. I’ll say 5, but they’ll get a bunch more stops at the line of scrimmage, and force a bunch of really bad throws, several of which will be intercepted. That’s right, I think EMU will at least match their 2010 season interception total tonight.
    7. Minimal. They cheer, there’s some jumping up and down and high fives, they sing the fight song, but that’s it; nothing special. I think English and the other coaches will make it clear that this is not a win to go nuts celebrating.

    Actual answers:
    1. 41-9
    2. 3,563
    3. Carter led the Bison with 67. Sherrer and Greene tied with 120 yards rushing, but Sherrer added 70 yards of kick returns for 190 all-purpose yards.
    4. Hoskins
    5. Cudworth
    6. Two
    7. Nothing terribly special that I saw. They cheered, they sang the fight song with the band, etc., but no Gatorade dumps or anything goofy like that.
