Roster notes:

  • Dominique Sherrer remains completely off the depth chart due to a knee injury suffered against Alabama State. Javonti Greene remains the starting running back as of now, but he was also injured two weeks ago, and saw very limited action (one carry and one catch) at Toledo last week. After Sherrer, Greene, and White, the next running back is probably either Ryan Brumfield or Joe Fleming.
  • Bridger Buche and Corey Watman both left late in the Penn State game with knee injuries. Rumor is that Buche suffered a high ankle sprain in his left leg, while Watman sprained his right knee. Both sat out the Akron and Toledo games, but are listed as starters for this weekend.
  • After being suspended for the first two games, wide receiver Kinsman Thomas had worked his way back into the starting lineup, but he’s missing again this week. I don’t know if he’s injured or if he’s suspended again.

    Dear cmadler,
The time it takes to heal injuries, is a confounding problem. Especially knee injuries. Whoever the player, there is always the psychological part. The team doctor, or trainer, says everything is fine, but the player hasn’t tested it yet, and just to be sure, it’s taped or braced. I don’t know if that instills confidence, or fear, in the players mind. I’m talking of fairly serious injuries now, not bruises, or sore muscles.
My other point, is why release a depth chart, if it really does not represent a true picture?
