Kent State 62, EMU men’s basketball 58 in photos
There weren’t a lot of highlights in Wednesday’s 62-58 loss to Kent State. The good news is that even with this loss, EMU remains atop the MAC West at 5-5, and after one more intradivisional game they’ll be back to facing the weaker West Division teams. The bad news is that four of their last six games will be on the road, with only Northern Illinois and Ball State coming to Ypsilanti after this weekend. The worse news is that division finish doesn’t matter any more, only overall finish, and right now the Eagles are in sixth place overall. If they can find a way to beat Ohio — who just lost to Toledo — this Saturday, and then go 4-1 in the second divisional round robin, EMU will have a realistic shot at finishing in third or fourth place overall, which would put them straight into the MAC Tournament quarterfinals…not as good as the semifinal bye the top two teams get, but not too bad.
Enough looking ahead; let’s look back at the Wednesday that was, with Ken Bailey’s photos.
