New football uniforms for 2012

We’ve had rumors and camera-phone images floating around since signing day (I guess you could say incoming freshman Hunter Matt broke the story), but now that information is showing up on an official EMU football page, I think we can consider this confirmed.

The 2012 Eastern Michigan Football team will feature new state of the art football Techfit uniforms. These uniforms are seamless and 30 percent lighter than the normal stretch mesh jerseys. Adidas outfits the Eagles with top of the line products including the new 6.9 oz Adizero Cleats, which are the lightest football cleats ever made on the market. We feel if you look good, you will feel good and play good!

The green helmet appears to be unchanged, and following the same pattern there is a white helmet with green block E and a matte gray helmet with green facemask and block E (white trim around the block E). Uniform jerseys and pants will have three similar options: green with white lettering, white with green lettering, and gray with white-trimmed green lettering. The jerseys will have the current shoulder caps replaced with similarly located wings (across the top of the shoulder about where the caps were, not in front like Oregon’s).
